What is an E-Z Bore? The story of the E-Z Bore design.
In 1970, John Moore Sr. started a lawn mower repair business in a tiny 10 x 14 building. During the winter months, there seemed to be a lot of free time and a bunch of old replacement engines and short blocks lying around. So, the search began for a way to overhaul these worn-out engines. The biggest obstacle was that no local machine shops were willing to bore out aluminum small engine cylinders.
Around 1979, the small engine world met the automotive world when John Jr. needed some help from John Sr. on a Volkswagen engine boring bar that wasn’t working properly. During this visit, the final piece of the puzzle was solved and John Sr. had the design of a hydraulic unit that he needed in order to develop a portable small engine boring machine. We received a patent for the E-Z Bore Machine in 1986.
Over the years, we have expanded our tool line to include many E-Z Bore special designed tools and currently represent great products such as Flex-Hone/Brush Research products, Sunnen Products honing equipment, Neway Manufacturing valve reconditioning equipment, Lisle Corporation, and GearWrench (formerly KD Tools) Automotive Specialty Tools and Equipment.
We thank our many loyal customers for 30 years of business, and we bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the small engine service industry. We look forward to working with you on your equipment needs and wish for you to know that YOUR complete satisfaction is top priority in our organization.
