Flex-Hone (31.8mm) for the connecting rod crankshaft journal of a Honda/Clone box stock racing engine. This type of hone has been used for years to add additional clearance at the crankshaft bearing. These hones also prep the surface with a cross hatch finish to enhance lubrication at the bearing surfaces.
These hones are produced from a SPECIAL material designed to be used on aluminum bearing surfaces. This hone is produced with Aluminum Oxide Abrasive.
Caution should be use when shopping for hones to ensure that they are produced with the right abrasive material for your application.
Silicon Carbide material is used frequently in the Automotive Industry; the same size hone would sell for quite a bit less than the comparable hone produce with the Aluminum Oxide material.
NOTE: DO NOT use this hone on billet rods with replaceable type bearing inserts.
